May 2, 2026 – Drone Team Challenge Competition
Welcome Drone Team Challenge Competition season!
Drone Team Challenge (DTC) is an exciting team competition format program for elementary, middle, and high school students exploring UAV’s (unmanned aerial vehicles) through an educational platform with 5 DTC Missions: Knowledge, Simulation, Flight, Creation, and Mentorship.
Competition details:
This competition will be held at the HSU Innovation Institute South 709 Anchors St., Fort Walton Beach, FL.
Please arrive promptly at 8:15 am to sign in your team. We will begin at 9:00 am.
The theme for this competition is Out of this World.
Feel free to bring space/rocket decorations for your “Pit” table.
Wear your badges to the competition. If you or a participant do not have one yet, please email us and we will have them for you day of.
We will provide lunch to you and your team only! But you and/or your team members may bring your own lunch. (We need to know by April 29, 2026.) Parents/Guardians/family and siblings need to make other arrangements for lunch.
Please have your team members bring their own water bottle with their name on it. You may also bring snacks for your team. Make sure all members of the team know to wear closed toe shoes.
Coaches, when you check in your team, you will be given a schedule of events in your coaches packet. (MAKE SURE YOU READ THROUGH THE PACKET) You will then be able to set up your Pit area. Each team will be assigned a Pit (table).
Feel free to bring cards or games to play at your Pit area during free time.
*Please ensure you have your drones, tablets, and batteries are charged ahead of time. Teams will be utilizing the For the Win Robotics Hopper drones for autonomous (mission 4).
We will have charging stations set up for you by the Pit areas.
